I begin with multiple sheets of colored glass which are sized and cut, then pieced together. This particular bowl is made up of (4) layers of translucent glass of various colors. Below shows the seperate layers by themselves and final pre-firing stack.

Shown below is the glass after firing. Some grinding will need to be done to square off the edges as well as patch a small hole created as the pieces shifted slightly during the fusing process (small white area). Note the blue glass fired purple and a few of the clear pieces fired red. This type of glass is called 'striker'. This was unintentional on my part but it looks really cool.
